There are two main compatibility types:

• Factory Wired CarPlay Vehicles: These vehicles use a USB cable to connect your iPhone to Apple CarPlay. For this type of vehicle, please choose an MMB AI Box model designed for factory wired CarPlay.
• Factory Wireless CarPlay Vehicles: These vehicles can connect to Apple CarPlay wirelessly without a USB cable. For this type of vehicle, please choose an MMB AI Box model designed for factory wireless CarPlay.

Choosing the wrong version may cause the device not to work properly, so compatibility confirmation is very important.

If your car supports factory wired CarPlay through a USB port, you should choose an MMB AI Box made for wired CarPlay vehicles. These models connect through your original CarPlay USB port and turn your factory screen into an Android-based multimedia system.

This type is commonly used for many Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Toyota, Porsche, Volkswagen, Honda, Ford, Jeep, Lexus and other vehicles that already support wired CarPlay.

If your car supports factory wireless CarPlay, you should choose an MMB AI Box model specifically designed for factory wireless CarPlay vehicles.

Some newer vehicles, such as selected BYD, Polestar 4, DENZA D9 and other models, may require the wireless CarPlay version instead of the standard wired CarPlay AI Box.

Not always. Different MMB AI Box models are made for different CarPlay systems. A model designed for factory wired CarPlay may not work with a vehicle that only supports factory wireless CarPlay. Likewise, a wireless CarPlay version may not be suitable for every wired CarPlay vehicle.

No. MMB AI Box products require your vehicle to already have factory CarPlay, either wired or wireless, depending on the specific model you choose.

If your car does not have CarPlay at all, the AI Box cannot directly add CarPlay by itself. You may need a CarPlay retrofit module or screen upgrade first.
